An evening of Sean-nos songs and melodies presented by Seamus Carmichael and guest musicians. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.

Seamus Carmichael is an Irish Traditional singer, originally from County Derry in the North of Ireland, and recipient of a 2024 Pennsylvania Traditional Arts award, teaching Sean-nos songs and techniques of ornamentation to an apprentice singer.

Rivers of Steel, Pittsburgh's Traditional Arts Organization, is happy to present Seamus in concert on Friday, August 22, at the Pump House, 880 E. Waterfront Drive, Munhall, PA 15120.

The concert will feature a selection of classic Sean-nos songs in Irish and English, with guest musicians demonstrating the influence of Sean-nos phrasing and ornamentation on the playing of "Slow Airs." Seamus weaves these streams of music together with stories of love, loss and joy that reflect the history of the Irish people.
